Implementation of a Social-Emotional Curriculum in the Middle School

The purpose of this school improvement plan was designed based on first-hand experience in seeing the high need for social-emotional learning skills among middle school students. Research findings show that a social-emotional curriculum provides students with many beneficial skills and supports to self-regulate and respond appropriately to anguish and trauma. The findings also explicitly conclude that when implementing a social-emotional curriculum each step of the process is crucial to the positive outcome of the program. With these research findings in mind, a school improvement plan was created to promote sustainable implementation within the middle school setting
