Wireless sensors and devices already form an integral part of modern society, but they are constrained by their battery life and the need to be recharged and replaced. To remove the need for batteries and the associated problems of recharging, energy harvesting (EH) can provide power from ambient energy in the environment, meaning large storage is not required as energy is continually replenished.
