Reportage as a Genre of Speech in Teaching Polish as a Foreign Language (as Illustrated by the Works of Ryszard Kapuściński)

The aim of the article is to show reportage as a genre of speech to be used in teaching Polish as a foreign language in the context of genre studies. The author assumes that reportage used in teaching Polish to foreigners, besides the realization of the main illocutions of the genre, contributes to the development or evaluation of learner’s language skills and acquisition of intercultural competence. The genre will be described using the concept of genre pattern by Maria Wojtak, including structural, pragmatic, cognitive and stylistic aspects, accomplished in the canon form, alternative versions or adaptive variants. Reportage turns out to be a genre with a structure showing a weakened conventionality and highly diversified themes. The intention of reportage authors is a comprehensive and suggestive presentation of facts, and their themes include a wide scope of events from social, political and cultural life. The texts are objective, imaginative, emotional and multi-styled. The sender shows different points of view but also his own personality. The article presents examples of reportage, coming from collections by Ryszard Kapuściński, as well as practical guidelines helpful in teaching Polish as a foreign language.Celem artykułu jest pokazanie reportażu jako gatunku wypowiedzi stosowanego w glottodydaktyce polonistycznej w celu kształtowania kompetencji genologicznej. Autorka przyjmuje, że gatunek ten dla celów nauczania języka polskiego jako obcego, obok zrealizowania głównych intencji pragmatycznych, służy także kształceniu lub ewaluacji umiejętności językowych oraz nabywaniu kompetencji interkulturowych. Do opisu gatunku wykorzystana zostanie koncepcja wzorca gatunkowego Marii Wojtak, obejmującego aspekty: strukturalny, pragmatyczny, poznawczy i stylistyczny, realizowanego w postaci kanonicznej, wariantów alternacyjnych lub adaptacyjnych. Reportaż jawi się jako gatunek o strukturze wykazującej osłabioną szablonowość i bardzo różnorodnej tematyce. Intencją reportażystów jest wszechstronne i sugestywne przedstawienia faktów, których tematyka obejmuje szerokie spektrum wydarzeń z życia społecznego, politycznego, kulturalnego. Wypowiedzi reportażowe cechuje obiektywizm, obrazowość, emocjonalność i wielostylowość. Przedstawione są różne punkty widzenia; wyraźna jest także osobowość autora. W artykule zostały także przedstawione przykłady wypowiedzi reportażowych, pochodzące ze zbiorów reportaży Ryszarda Kapuścińskiego, a także praktyczne wskazówki do wykorzystania na zajęciach języka polskiego jako obcego
