Recent years have seen increased public interest in smart child safety seats (SCSSs), although actual use has lagged behind predictions. We conducted a questionnaire survey among 1,107 respondents from first-tier cities in China to investigate the public acceptance of SCSS. Structured equation modeling validates UTAUT2's applicability to SCSS. Performance expectation, effort expectation, social impact, convenient conditions, and hedonic incentive will have a beneficial influence on the behavioral intention to purchase and utilize SCSS.
