Due to environmental concerns, automotive manufacturers aim at acquiring knowledge of physical and chemical phenomena inside the combustion chamber to understand and control pollutant emissions. Despite the outstanding performances in the domain of high performance intensive numerical calculation, the numerical simulations of the combustion chambers of the internal combustion engines do not allow a detailed description of the chemical processes.
