Etude en laboratoire du comportement d'un revêtement duplex (zinc + peinture) utilisé pour la protection d structures enterrées en matériaux ferreux peu alliés

International audiencein order to analyze the effect of a mechanical deterioration on the protective effect of a duplex coating, a groove exposing the substrate is achieved on a circular sample. The studied duplex coating is constituted of a hot sprayed zinc layer (about 50 µm ) and of a bituminous painting layer (about 100 µm). The behaviour to the corrosion of this coating is studied in a solution of NaCl 6g.L-1. The mechanism of self-healing of the groove by the zinc corrosion products is analyzed with the help of following experimental techniques: free potential measurements, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), surface analysis: scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Raman spectroscopy (RS). These methods give further results: the electrochemical methods show the effect of the galvanic protection (zinc) and the influence of the paint slowing down the penetration of the electrolyte; consequently, this controls the process of corrosion (physical barrier and electrical resistance). The formation of the zinc corrosion products is studied by EIS and observations with the MEB. Then the products are characterized by RS.Afin d’analyser l’effet d’une dégradation mécanique sur l’action protectrice d’un revêtement duplex, une blessure mettant le substrat à nu est réalisée sur un échantillon circulaire. Le revêtement duplex étudié est constitué d’une couche de zinc pulvérisé à chaud (environ 50 µm) et d’une couche de peinture bitumineuse (environ 100 µm). La tenue à la corrosion de ce revêtement est suivie dans une solution de NaCl 6g.L–1. Le mécanisme de cicatrisation de la blessure par les produits de corrosion du zinc est analysé à l’aide des techniques expérimentales suivantes : mesures du potentiel libre, spectroscopie d’impédance électrochimique (EIS), analyse de surface : microscope électronique à balayage (MEB) et spectroscopie Raman (RS). Ces méthodes donnent des résultats complémentaires : les méthodes électrochimiques montrent l’effet de la protection galvanique (zinc) et l’influence de la peinture ralentissant la pénétration de l’électrolyte ; celle-ci régule par conséquent le processus de corrosion (barrière physique et résistance électrique). La formation des produits de corrosion du zinc est suivie par EIS et des observations au MEB. Les produits sont ensuite caractérisés par RS
