In vitro neural networks have proven great potential in neuroscience to provide minimalist yet relevant models to mimic the complexity of human brain circuits. Monitoring the activity of neurons in such systems both at large scale and at single cell resolution represents the main challenge in neuroscience to fully decipher the brain information processing.
