This study aimed to estimate the genetic parameters of body weight from 15 sucessive generations of meat-type quails, using the unicharacteristic model. A total of 8130 records obtained from the Federal University of Pelotas quail improment program were used. The body weight trait was evaluated at hatch, 7, 14, 21, 28, 35 and 42 days of age. The MTGSAM computer program, which allows Bayesian interference, using Gibbs sampling, applied to an animal model to estimate componentes of covariance and heritabilities was used.
