In a global context of pesticide use diminution all over the European Union, new means of alternative crop protection have to be developed. One of them is biocontrol wich is defined as a crop protection method package using living organisms or natural substances 1 . • Under these circumstances, the European project portfolio Smartbiocontrol was established to promote the use and development of biocontrol products in the Belgium-France cross-border area2 . • One of the targeted disease is Septoria tritici blotch (STB), one of the European Union’s most devastating foliar disease on wheat. • A total of more than 200 biomolecules or extracts of diverse origins have been tested for in vitro antifungal activity and elicitation effect.
