This paper aims to present the first results of a study on the archival record of the Parco Archeologico di Ostia Antica concerning the so-called Caseggiato dei Lottatori (V, III, 1). In 1975, archaeological excavations were made under the mosaics of the building; on this occasion, the archaeologists discovered several walls and cementizio pavements from at least one building, destroyed in the first half of the 2nd c. AD during the construction of the Caseggiato dei Lottatori. These walls and pavements, still unpublished, are known only through the archival record, because they were buried shortly after the excavation.
