Spirituality in the context of body modifications

The presented diploma thesis aims to focus on body modifications of the view of spirituality in contemporary Euro-American society. The main effort was to answer the question of how bodily manifestations can be connected to spirituality and how it can be interpreted. In the first part of the diploma thesis, the term spirituality was defined as an individual component of personality that can be examined and interpreted outside the framework of organized religion. Furthermore, the text addressed the term body modification, which is defined in this text as a matter of contemporary Euro-American society. The theoretical anchoring of these two terms was established for the empirical part, which sought to prepare the main indicator of spirituality based on the interpretation of data obtained from interviews with informants
