The extent to which children of Corpus Christi, Texas, do not enroll in school or withdraw after enrollment has come to be recognized as a serious problem by residents of the city interested in social welfare. Local parent-teacher associations have sponsored programs at which information was given to members concerning the extent of nonenrollment. Civic clubs have asked representatives from the local schools to discuss the problem before their members. Social workers in their contacts with children have dealt many times with nonenrollment in school.
