The purpose of this article is to offer an overview of the New Generation of Egyptian writers of the Nineties. These new Egyptian voices introduce an experimental novel, which has come to represent an icon in the Egyptian literary field. After a concise analysis of this phenomenon from a socio-literary point of view, I take in exam three novels, which presents clear affinities : Hura\u2019 Mataha Qutiyya (Chats of a Gothic Labyrinth) by Mustafa Zikri, Tasrih bi-l-Ghiyab (Exit-permit) by Muntasir al-Qaffa\u161, Dunyazad (Duniazad) by May al-Tilmisani.
