Sobrevida de pacientes con diagnóstico de Linfoma tipo Burkitt en portadores del Virus de Inmunodeficiencia Humana

Introduction: Burkitt type lymphoma (BL) is one of the most common neoplasms in patients with HIV due to the immune compromise they present. BL patients who live with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) have a survival rate of approximately 69% two years after diagnosis. However, other authors mention that survival is only 50%, in patients on antiretroviral treatment (ART) and chemotherapy, two years after diagnosis. BL occurs between 50% to 70% more in HIV-positive people and a low CD4 lymphocytes count increases the predisposition to develop BL. Chemotherapy is the method of choice for the treatment of Burkitt-type lymphoma in HIV-positive patients. Objective: Determine the survival of patients diagnosed with Burkitt lymphoma in people living with human immunodeficiency virus Methodology: Narrative bibliographic review. For the bibliographic search, information collected from the following databases was used: PubMed in conjunction with the application of Boolean operators: AND, OR, NOT; and with the help of search MeSH terms like, “Burkitt lymphoma”, AND “HIV” AND “Treatment”. Results: Patients have a higher incidence of Burkitt-type lymphoma due to their immunosuppression, which is why it is important that they correctly adhere to antiretroviral treatment and chemotherapy, since the survival of these patients can be between 45% and 50%, two years after de diagnosis Keywords: Burkitt Lymphoma, Treatment, HIV  Introducción El linfoma tipo Burkitt (LB) es una de las neoplasias más comunes en pacientes con el virus de inmunodeficiencia humana (VIH), a causa del compromiso inmunitario que presentan. Los pacientes con LB portadoras del VIH  presentan una sobrevida que se aproxima al 69% a los dos años. Sin embargo, otros autores mencionan que la sobrevida tan solo llega a ser del 50%, en pacientes en tratamiento antirretroviral (TAR) y quimioterapia. El LB se presenta entre un 50% y un 70% más en personas VIH positiva pues un recuento bajo de linfocitos CD4 aumenta la predisposición a desarrollar LB. La quimioterapia es el método de elección para el tratamiento de linfoma tipo Burkitt en pacientes VIH positivos Objetivo Determinar la sobrevida de pacientes con diagnóstico de Linfoma tipo Burkitt en portadores del Virus de Inmunodeficiencia Humana. Metodología: Revisión bibliográfica de tipo narrativa. Para la búsqueda bibliográfica se usó información recolectada de las siguientes bases de datos: Pubmed en conjunto con la aplicación de operadores booleanos: AND, OR, NOT;  y con la ayuda de los términos de búsqueda MeSH como, “Burkitt lymphoma” AND “HIV” AND “Treatment” Resultados: Los pacientes con VIH presentan una mayor incidencia de Linfoma tipo Burkitt debido a su inmunodepresión, por lo cual es importante que se adhieran de manera correcta al tratamiento antirretroviral y a la quimioterapia, ya que la sobrevida de los mimos llega a ser de entre el 45% y 50% a los 2 años del diagnóstico.
