La influencia de las redes sociales como factor de riesgo en el desarrollo de la anorexia y la bulimia nerviosas durante la adolescencia

Eating disorders (ED) such as anorexia and bulimia nervosa, are serious mental health issues which are rising since decades ago. These issues specially affect women in their adolescence. The variables associated with the development of these disorders have been widely studied and, on numerous occasions, media and advertising have been related to the thickening of lists of patients with anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. The beginning of the internet, chiefly the Web 2.0, and the massive use of social networks, has displaced the traditional media and it takes us to a new stage where different factors affect the development of eating disorders. The following systematic review tries to acknowledge the current condition of the investigations that matches social media as an influencing factor in the development of anorexia and bulimia nervosa, in order to do so, research and analysis of the bibliographic material were made on indexers such as Google Academics, Scielo, Redalyc, and Dialnet, and we proceeded to analyze 20 scientific articles. In the analysis of the selected articles, a relation between the development of anorexia and bulimia nervosas among women and the variables related to social networks seems to be found. With the data found, it can be assumed that social networks have occupied the space and time traditional media used to, so they (social networks) have assumed its role and they perpetuate the beauty stereotypes problem that already exists, adding to it the social factor traditional media didn't have. It was also found that it is not possible to talk about social networks in general, due to their heterogeneity, being Facebook and Instagram the most related to anorexia and bulimia nervosa.Los trastornos de la conducta alimentaria (TCA), como la anorexia y la bulimia nerviosas, son un grave problema de salud mental, en aumento desde hace décadas, que afecta especialmente a mujeres en la adolescencia. Las variables más estudiadas asociadas a su aparición son los medios de comunicación y la publicidad. La aparición de internet, sobre todo de la Web 2.0, y el uso masivo de las redes sociales, ha desplazado a los medios de comunicación tradicionales y nos transporta hacia un nuevo escenario de factores de influencia en el desarrollo de los TCA. La presente revisión sistemática trata de conocer el estado actual de las investigaciones que relacionan las redes sociales como factor influyente en el desarrollo de la anorexia y la bulimia nerviosas. Para ello se realizó una búsqueda y análisis de material bibliográfico disponible en indexadoras como Google Académico, Scielo, Redalyc y Dialnet, y se procedió al estudio de 20 artículos de carácter científico. En el análisis de los artículos seleccionados parece encontrarse una relación entre el desarrollo de la anorexia y la bulimia nerviosas entre las mujeres y variables vinculadas con las redes sociales. Con los datos encontrados se puede presuponer que las redes sociales han ocupado el espacio de los medios de comunicación tradicionales, por lo que han asumido su papel y perpetúan el problema de los estereotipos de belleza ya existentes, pero añadiéndole el factor social del que los anteriores carecían. También se concluyó que no es posible hablar de redes sociales, en general, puesto que estas son muy heterogéneas, siendo Facebook e Instagram las más relacionadas con la anorexia y la bulimia nerviosas
