The study has made an attempt to explore the areas on which Pakistan and India have initiated Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) to assure regional stability, peace and strategic balance in contemporary scenario. This research study deliberates upon the pitfalls and shortcomings in implementation and continuation of CBMs between the two rivals. Across the globe, South Asia is defined by the state of animosity between Pakistan and India. Despite several efforts throughout the history, the both states are entangled in prisoners‟ dilemma. As the result they have missed several ripped moments for the peaceful conflict resolution to ensure sustainable peace.
