LINGUÍSTICA APLICADA E OS ESTUDOS DO LETRAMENTO: PERSPECTIVAS E INTERFACES

Applied Linguistics has been among the topics of greatest interest among researchers. The growth in the number of researches is a reflection of what applied linguists call the “epistemological turn” (MOITA LOPES, 2013), which breaks crystallized perspectives on language and its hermetically structured nature and moves towards a science that now broadens its spectrum in search of studies that deal with the relationship between language and society. According to these perspectives, Literacy Studies have also started to recognize language beyond a set of codes to be mastered by subjects. Currently, theorists and researchers in the area are dedicated to the treatment of language from a social point of view, that is, constituted and constitutive of social practices. With this in mind, the present article fulfills the task of exposing the result of a bibliographic research about the interface between Applied Linguistics and Literacy Studies. To support the production, a survey was carried out of scientific articles and works by authors such as Moita Lopes (2013), Magalhães (2012), Street (2014), among others. The results achieved made it possible to conclude that the theories and methods presented by both areas demonstrate a fruitful interface for the development of new research.A Linguística Aplicada tem estado entre os temas de maior interesse entre pesquisadores. O crescimento do número de pesquisas é reflexo do que linguistas aplicados denominam de “virada epistemológica” (MOITA LOPES, 2013), a qual rompe perspectivas cristalizadas sobre língua e sua natureza hermeticamente estruturada e caminha em direção a uma   ciência que agora amplia seu espectro em busca de estudos que tratem da relação entre lingua(gem) e sociedade. Consoante tais perspectivas, os Estudos do Letramento também passaram a reconhecer a lingua(gem) para além de um conjunto de códigos a ser dominado pelos sujeitos. Atualmente, teóricos e pesquisadores da área se dedicam ao tratamento da lingua(gem) sob a óptica social, ou seja, constituída e constituinte de práticas sociais. Tendo isso em vista, o presente artigo cumpre a tarefa de expor o resultado de uma pesquisa bibliográfica acerca da interface entre a Linguística Aplicada e os Estudos do Letramento. Para dar sustento à produção, foi realizado um levantamento de artigos científicos e de obras de autores como Moita Lopes (2013), Magalhães (2012), Street (2014), dentre outros. Os resultados alcançados possibilitaram concluir que as teorias e os métodos apresentados por ambas as áreas demonstram uma interface profícua para o desenvolvimento de novas pesquisas
