Introduction: Disorders of the temporomandibular joint (TMD) are dentofacial illnesses that can be caused by extra- or intra-articular disease. TMD is treated with a variety of pharmaceutical preparations, including non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), muscle relaxants, and steroids. Many of these drugs are used together to reduce the symptoms and retard the progression of the disease to chronic illness.
