This work is a result of the master's research carried out in the Graduate Program in Geography at the Federal University of Pelotas-UFPel. This is a study that sought to address the importance of using cartographic language in the teaching and learning process in Geography. Therefore, the objective that guided the proposal was to analyze with the Geography teachers of the basic municipal education network of Pelotas-RS, have developed and integrated the knowledge of school cartography in their teaching practices.
