MAPEAMENTO DA DINÂMICA DO DESMATAMENTO NO MUNICÍPIO DE BRASNORTE/MT

This article discusses the evolution of deforestation, in the municipality of Brasnorte, Mato Grosso/Brazil, in the period from 2000 to 2009, including the occupation in Indigenous lands. The mapping was done by vectorization of deforested areas in the Landsat TM5 satellite images, georeferenced, resolution of 30m, using ArcMap software. It obtained maps of deforestation of the total area of the municipality and each indigenous reserve in each mentioned period. It was noted that deforestation is linked to the expansion of agriculture and pasture areas, besides the extraction of timber for commercial purposes. In 2000 the total area of the municipality had a use and occupancy of 29.48% in late 2009 it was 46.46% of entering Indigenous lands. Thus, it was observed that, with better monitoring and control of deforestation there was the consolidation of soybean and reduction of the extraction plant, which at the beginning of the period was the main municipality economy.O presente artigo trata da evolução do desmatamento no período de 2000 a 2009 no município de Brasnorte/MT, incluindo o uso e ocupação nas Terras Indígenas. O mapeamento foi determinado através da interpretação visual das áreas desmatadas nas imagens de satélite Landsat TM5, georreferenciadas, na resolução de 30m, utilizando software ArcGis. Obtiveram-se mapas de desmatamento da área total do município e de cada reserva indígena em cada período mencionado. Observou-se que o desmatamento está atrelado ao avanço da fronteira agrícola e das áreas de pastagens, além da extração da madeira para fins comerciais. Para o ano de 2000 a área total do município apresentava um uso de 29,48% e no final de 2009 de 46,46% adentrando Terras Indígenas. Com uma maior fiscalização e controle do desmatamento houve o processo de consolidação da cultura da soja e redução do extrativismo vegetal, que no início do período era a principal economia do município
