REFLEXÕES SOBRE A CONSTRUÇÃO DO CONCEITO DE LUGAR NA ESCOLA CONTEMPORÂNEA

The objective of this paper is to present the importance of culture, place, personal knowledge and spatial awareness as factors in individual’s identity in his group, in a world characterized by globalization of the economy. The specifics of this situation justify the adoption of different attitudes in the teaching-learning relationship, since the changes in socialization patterns trigger new forms of mediation, including the different practices that emerge and change, so too, the ways to build knowledge and practices of teaching and learning. In this context, the school resizes its importance and significance in opening a different world for students and establishing relations between the known, own, place and social memory of the group, with the valuation of other skills aimed at building participants and critics citizens. Thus, the understanding that the place is the real space of people’s lives and shapes their spatial awareness enables the proposition of guided teaching practices on knowledge of each one. This is important because it allows the teacher to teach a way of seeing reality, which is directly related to the formation of citizenship. Thus, in the act of mediation, to explore the contents of the knowledge of the group from certain procedures, and from there to prepare a concept, the teacher will be contributing to the formation of the citizen.O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar a importância da cultura, do lugar, do saber pessoal e da consciência espacial, como fatores de identidade do indivíduo em seu grupo, em um mundo caracterizado pela globalização da economia. As especificidades dessa situação justificam a adoção de atitudes diferenciadas nas relações de ensinoaprendizagem, uma vez que as mudanças nos padrões de socialização desencadeiam novas formas de mediação, inclusive nas diferentes práticas que surgem e mudam, também, os modos de se construir conhecimento e as práticas de ensinar e aprender. Nesse contexto, a escola redimensiona e resignifica sua importância ao abrir um mundo diferenciado para os alunos e tecer relações entre o conhecido, o próprio, o lugar e a memória social do grupo, com a valorização de outros conhecimentos que visam à construção de cidadãos participantes, críticos. Desse modo, a compreensão de que o lugar constitui o espaço real de vida das pessoas e molda sua consciência espacial, possibilita a proposição de práticas pedagógicas pautadas no saber de cada um. Isso é importante porque permite ao professor ensinar uma forma de ver a realidade, que tem relação direta com a formação da cidadania. Assim, no ato de sua mediação, ao explorar os conteúdos dos saberes do grupo, a partir de determinados procedimentos, e daí partir para a elaboração de um conceito, o professor estará contribuindo para essa formação do cidadão
