Brazilian Popular Music and Nueva Canción Chilena were artistic-cultural expressions critical of the authoritarianism imposed by the State, in a period predominantly marked by military regimes in the Southern Cone. In the last years, there an increase in researches that sought to establish connections between MPB (Brazilian Popular Music) and Nueva Canción Chilena, focusing on the comparative and transnational perspectives.
