Medio ambiente, educación ambiental y formación de profesores en la multidimensionalidad

Environmental education feels the need to adjust to the anthropogenic position of the 20th and 21st centuries that led to changes in the environment. To understand this changing environment, it is increasingly necessary to study it in order to bring education closer to awareness and change of habits. The objective of this study was to analyze the evolution of the theoretical conception of the environment and the teaching about it during the last fifty years. For this, a bibliographical study and a case study referring to the training of teachers in charge of teaching environmental issues in Uruguay were carried out. The dimensional and plural complexity of the environmental theme was discovered and a challenging scenario that requires the recognition of at least twelve environmental dimensions which need to be recognized for positioning during environmental education and the training of professionals in environmental education. Medio ambiente, educación ambiental y formación de profesores en la multidimensionalidad Resumen: La educación ambiental siente la necesidad de ajustarse a la postura antropogénica de los siglos XX y XXI que indujo a las transformaciones sobre el medio ambiente. Para comprender ese medio cambiante, se hace cada vez más necesario estudiarlo a los efectos de poder acercar la educación hacia la concientización y el cambio de los hábitos. El objetivo de este estudio fue analizar la evolución de la concepción teórica sobre del medio ambiente y la enseñanza sobre el mismo durante los últimos cincuenta años. Para ello, se realizó un estudio bibliográfico y un estudio de caso referido a la formación de docentes encargados de enseñar las temáticas ambientales en Uruguay. Se descubrió la complejidad dimensional y plural de la temática ambiental y un escenario desafiante que requiere el reconocimiento de al menos doce dimensiones ambientales las cuales precisan ser reconocidas para el posicionamiento durante la educación ambiental y la formación de profesionales en la enseñanza del medio ambiente.
