In today\u27s interconnected power grids, forced oscillations and poorly damped low-frequency oscillations are major concerns that can damage equipment, limit power transfer capability, and deteriorate power system stability. The first part of the dissertation focuses on the impact of a wide-area power oscillation damping (POD) controller via voltage source converter-based high voltage direct current (VSC-HVDC) in enhancing the power system stability and improving the damping of low-frequency oscillation.
