The paper studies the synesthetic processes involved in the use of communication artefacts, such as visuals and audio-visuals, on the subject of food. In particular, it notes that – in the case of food, unlike other subjects, and in particular in the synesthetic practices of art – a highly iconic and photographic image has a greater synesthetic capacity than an abstract and graphic image. Finally, by analysing the food videos produced by the film director Stef Viaene, the paper identifies the elements that make kinetic images palatable
