We consider four real case studies of new passive houses in mediterranean climates, analysed and supported in the european research project PassREg, Passive House Regions with Renewable Energies. Their main technical features and design parameters are presented to show that Passivhaus Standard strategies can be successfully adopted as possible solution for nearly zero energy buildings in mediterranean climates for both private and public buildings of various types, as single family houses, apartments blocks, schools
