Γλωσσικές επιδόσεις στην Eλληνική ως Γλώσσα Πολιτισμικής Κληρονομιάς: Πειραματικά δεδομένα παραγωγής και κατανόησης της ρηματικής μορφολογίας

The present study explores verbal morphology in adult heritage Greek. In an oral elicitation task, Greek monolinguals and Heritage Speakers (HSs) in Germany exhibited ceiling performance in aspectual marking, while HSs in the US were significantly less accurate. In speeded grammaticality judgements, similar results were obtained for the grammatical conditions as in the elicitation task. In ungrammatical conditions, accuracy was overall affected. HSs-US were less accurate with the perfective form, which is morphologically more complex than the imperfective form, and hours of education in Greek was a reliable predictor. Finally, HSs produced novel forms in the past tense by treating monosyllable-stems of Conjugation A similarly to Conjugation B
