INTRODUCTION: Patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and concurrent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been reported to have poor outcomes. However, previous studies are small and limited. METHODS: The National Inpatient Sample (NIS) database for the year 2020 was queried to identify all adult hospitalizations with a primary diagnosis of STEMI, with and without concurrent COVID-19. A 1:1 propensity score matching was performed. RESULTS: A total of 159,890 hospitalizations with a primary diagnosis of STEMI were identified. Of these, 2,210 (1.38%) had concurrent COVID-19.
