The climate change issues due to the emissions of carbon dioxide from various sources have become a challenge for many years because of the various negative effects on social, economic and environmental aspects. The most commonly applied technique is absorption by chemical solvents. Piperazine, in particular, has been used in the past as activator when mixed to other amines, such as methyldiethanolamine.
