Construction Information Management (CIM), INNOVance for the construction process

The high quantity of information generated during the construction process is even more difficult to manage than the production phases, due to the complexity of the process itself. The move from the vectorial CAD tools, traditionally being used for the project phase, to BIM did not produce, yet, a change of paradigm in terms of information management, despite this could potentially affect the whole production process. From the pencil to the Computer Aided Design; from the Building Information Modelling to the Construction Information Management. The INNOVance project, as an interoperable platform for exchanging information in the building industry, is aiming to enable the structured information exchange through the whole process in favour of all the actors, with the aim of moving from the simple graphical modelling to the information management
