Nanostructured porous materials have attracted significant research attention in recent years due to their interesting properties that may have relevance to many applications, including energy storage and environmental applications. There is a need for the development of porous materials synthesis methods offering simplicity, lower cost and more sustainable eco-friendly routes. The porous materials should have structural and textural characteristics similar or superior to those that are produced via conventional routes.
