This project report is a result of the Participatory Needs Assessment which was conducted in Gongolamboto Ward, Ilala Municipality, to identify the needs of widows who are engaged in small and informal business. The study applied descriptive research design under which both qualitative and quantitative approach was employed. The researcher employed simple random sampling and purposive sampling techniques to get respondents. Data were collected from a sample of 33 respondents using primary and secondary sources. The reviewed literatures have clearly shown that despite the government’s efforts to combat poverty and the avenue provided in various policy documents have not been able to pull many Tanzanians especially women out of income poverty...
