Objective: This study aimed to review the literature on the diagnostic criteria used to detect halitosis in adolescents and the recommended treatments for this condition. Methods: The bibliographic search, in the last ten years, was carried out in the Pubmed database, using the keywords “halitosis and adolescent”. Clinical, comparative, observational studies and randomized controlled clinical trials, with adolescents aged 10 to 19 years, who used diagnostic criteria to detect halitosis in adolescents, and presented a proposal for the treatment of this condition, were selected.
