Although the range of application of the PSV technique is quite wide, up to now the uncertainty of the measured data were estimated case-by-case, considering each specific application condition. This work deals with the issue of giving a comprehensive analysis of the uncertainty linked to PSV measurements, considering the effects of experimental and image-processing parameters on it. Results of experimental tests in simplified reference conditions and in water channel are shown and analysed in order to give a comprehensive picture of the uncertainty budget in PSV techniques.
