Impact de la thérapie miroir dans la rééducation chez le patient hémiplégique en phase subaiguë : une revue de littérature à caractère systématique

Motor and functional deficits are a common consequence of stroke hemiplegia. Mirror therapy may present an alternative therapy to promote motor and functional recovery.Materials and methods : in order to know the effects of mirror therapy on the motor and functional recovery of the upper limb of the hemiplegic as well as the effects on neglect, a review of the literature was carried out. The PubMed database was searched.Results : of the 109 articles, 12 studies were included for a total of 398 subjects. These studies showed that mirror therapy favored motor and functional recovery, but with no significant difference from conventional therapy. However, it seems to improve neglect.Discussion : mirror therapy has an effect on the motor and functional recovery of the upper limb of the hemiplegic for people in therapeutic impasse. It is highly likely to have a significant effect on neglect. Even so further studies on the effects of mirror therapy on neglect are needed to certify this result.Conclusion : mirror therapy is of interest in the motor and functional recovery of the upper limb in hemiplegics for patients who do not respond to conventional treatment. It seems to be promising for reducing neglect.Les déficits moteurs et fonctionnels sont une conséquence courante de l’hémiplégie due à un AVC. La thérapie miroir peut présenter une thérapie alternative afin de favoriser la récupération motrice et fonctionnelle.Méthode : afin de connaitre les effets de la thérapie miroir sur la récupération motrice et fonctionnelle du membre supérieur de l’hémiplégique ainsi que les effets sur la négligence, une revue de la littérature a été réalisée. La base de données PubMed a été interrogée.Résultats : sur les 109 articles, 12 études ont été inclues pour un total de 398 sujets. Ces études ont montré que la thérapie miroir favorisait la récupération motrice et fonctionnelle mais sans différence significative avec la thérapie conventionnelle. Seulement, il semblerait qu’elle améliorerait la négligence.Discussion : la thérapie miroir a un effet sur la récupération motrice et fonctionnelle sur le membre supérieur de l’hémiplégique pour les personnes se trouvant dans l’impasse thérapeutique. Il est fortement probable qu’elle agisse sur la négligence de façon importante. Il faudrait des études supplémentaires sur les effets de la thérapie miroir sur la négligence afin de certifier ce résultat.Conclusion : la thérapie miroir présente un intérêt dans la récupération motrice et fonctionnelle du membre supérieur chez l’hémiplégique pour les patients ne répondant pas au traitement conventionnel. Elle semble prometteuse pour diminuer la négligence
