International audienceThis article presents the results of a transdisciplinary research project in the Bourgogne Franche-Comté region. It shows how place-based transition operator is constituted by the territorial meshing. This term is theorized, in resonance with established concepts such as social capital, articulation of scales, swarming, prefiguration and relational ontologies. In practice, it appears that the efficiency of the meshing is strongly linked to the formation of socio-ecological transition engineering capable of connecting the multiple forms of collective action to the decentralised services of the State and local authorities.
