Effect of speed, longitudinal inclination and seed driving system in pneumatic meters

Un estimates claim that the world population will reach 11 billion people by the middle of the year 2100. As Agriculture is the sector in charge of guaranteeing the planet’s food security, the responsibility to update itself technologically to increase food productivity falls under the same. In this context, factors such as sowing precision become even more important to ensure good productivity, so this work aimed to analyze the influence of different pneumatic meters in the sowing process through laboratory tests, namely: John Deere MaxEmerge5, Precision Planting vSet and Matermacc. The tests were carried out in the laboratory using a bench developed especially for metering tests and a data collection sensor also specifically designed for the activity. The meters were tested in terms of velocity, longitudinal inclination and seed driving system, and the results were analyzed using descriptive statistics (simple average), non-linear regression and experimental statistics (ANOVA and Tukey). From this analysis, it was possible to notice that in the John Deere MaxEmerge5 meter the joint action of the sowing speed, longitudinal inclination and the presence of a conductive tube influence the longitudinal distribution of seeds. In the Precision Planting vSet meter, the combination of conduction and speed factors and also the combination of conduction and longitudinal inclination factors influenced the percentage of acceptable spacings. Finally, in the Matermacc meter, there was a decrease in the percentages of acceptable spacings due to the presence of a conductive tube and also due to the increase in the experimental speed.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESEstimativas da ONU afirmam que a população mundial deverá bater 11 bilhões de pessoas em meados do ano de 2100. Nesse contexto, fatores como a precisão de semeadura se tornam ainda mais importantes para garantir uma boa produtividade, logo esse trabalho teve por objetivo analisar a influência de diferentes dosadores pneumáticos no processo de semeadura através de ensaios em laboratório, sendo eles: John Deere MaxEmerge5, Precision Planting vSet e Matermacc. Os testes foram realizados em laboratório utilizando uma bancada desenvolvida especialmente para testes de dosadores e um sensor de coleta de dados também projetado especificamente para a atividade. Os dosadores foram testados em termos de velocidade, inclinação longitudinal e sistema de condução de sementes, e os resultados foram analisados através da estatística descritiva (média simples), regressão não linear e estatística experimental (ANOVA e Tukey). A partir dessa análise foi possível notar que no dosador John Deere MaxEmerge5 a ação conjunta da velocidade de semeadura, inclinação longitudinal e a presença de tubo condutor influenciam a distribuição longitudinal de sementes. Já no dosador Precision Planting vSet a combinação entre os fatores condução e velocidade e também a combinação entre os fatores condução e inclinação longitudinal influenciaram o percentual de espaçamentos aceitáveis. Por fim no dosador Matermacc houve diminuição dos percentuais de espaçamentos aceitáveis em função da presença de tubo condutor e também pelo aumento da velocidade
