Background: There are no detailed reports in the literature on maternal cytomegalovirus antibody screening for universal newborn hearing screening (UNHS) referral patients. We examined maternal cytomegalovirus antibody screening results and estimated the incidence of maternal primary cytomegalovirus infection among UNHS referral patients.
