The Relationship between Emotional Intelligence and Emotional Burnout in Substitute Parents

The article examines the peculiarity of emotional intelligence and emotional burnout in substitute parents. Various approaches to the concept of emotional intelligence are described. Emotional burnout in substitute parents is considered, the main problems of substitute parents are highlighted. It is noted that it is in the family that the child gets the first life experience, makes observations and learns how to behave in certain situations. It is also determined that the connection of education with other types of activities, the subordination of education to one or another motive, as well as the place of education in a person's personality – all this gives each parent's upbringing an individual character. In education, as well as in any other kind of activity, mistakes and failures are possible. Relationships with a child, as well as with any person, are individual and unique. Each family has its own individual system of education. Children in the care of foster parents are at increased risk of negative consequences in development. Foster families are considered a caring environment that allows children to thrive despite past adverse experiences. Thus, foster care can contribute to sustainability through role modeling processes and the experience of positive, reliable and stable relationships. Raising foster children is not an easy task that requires a lot of emotional and physical investment. The presence of specific features in children, the discrepancy between expectations of reality are just some of the factors that create high emotional stress among foster parents, sometimes make them work with the "last of their strength" and make great efforts to maintain a comfortable relationship with foster children
