In a society where pet companions have become part of the family circle, many humans consider their non-human companions as family members and sometimes even as their babies. In order to apprehend the mechanisms of such modern interspecific relationships, research in the field must follow that trend. The primary aim of this dissertation was to improve and expand the existing knowledge on the ethology of domestic cats (Felis catus).
