Introducción: Las fracturas de radio distal son la fractura más común en huesos largos. Su evaluación se realiza con radiografías, un recurso económico y ampliamente disponible. La tomografía axial computarizada (TAC) permite aumentar el detalle anatómico, en especial del compromiso intraarticular y la conminución. Sin embargo, representa un costo adicional no despreciable, calculado entre el 15 al 30%. Existe controversia si es necesaria para mejorar la interpretación de estas fracturas y la selección de tratamiento.
