Un lugar acústico relativamente prístino en el mundo es el Golfo de Tribugá ubicado en el Pacífico Norte colombiano. Declarado Hope Spot en 2019, los conservacionistas han estado trabajando en contra de un plan del gobierno colombiano de una hipotética construcción de un megapuerto marítimo internacional en esta región. Una estrategia para promover la conservación de este hábitat marino y de manglares es ilustrar visualmente cuánto podría ocupar el ruido de las embarcaciones si se construyera un puerto marítimo.
