The Impact of the Lithuania-Russia security dilemma for European security after 2014.

El dilema de seguridad entre Lituania y Rusia ha venido en aumento desde la anexión de Crimea por parte de Rusia en el 2014. Este hecho ha condicionado las relaciones entre Rusia y occidente generando así un espiral de tensiones que han tenido un efecto en la seguridad europea. La presente investigación tiene como objetivo estimar el impacto del dilema de seguridad entre Lituania y Rusia después del 2014 para la seguridad europea. Para lograr este objetivo se empleó una investigación cualitativa y descriptiva. En primer lugar, se realizó un Estado del arte de autores que aborden el dilema de seguridad en la región báltica y las relaciones entre Rusia y los países bálticos. En segundo lugar, se llevo a cabo una revisión documental de las políticas de defensa de ambos actores en concordancia con el tema previamente abordado. Al analizar las fuentes de investigación, se comprobó que el dilema de seguridad entre Lituania y Rusia ha demostrado que la presencia activa de los Estados Unidos, la dependencia energética y la amenaza de Rusia no han permitido que se configure un sistema de seguridad europeo.The security dilemma between Lithuania and Russia has been on the rise since Russia's annexation of Crimea in 2014. This event has conditioned relations between Russia and the West thus generating a spiral of tensions, that have had an effect on European security. The present research aims to estimate the impact of the security dilemma between Lithuania and Russia after 2014 for European security. To achieve this goal, qualitative and descriptive research was employed. First, a State of the Art of authors addressing the security dilemma in the Baltic region and the relations between Russia and the Baltic countries was conducted. Secondly, a documentary review of the defense policies of both actors was carried out in accordance with the previously addressed topic. By analyzing the research sources, it was found that the security dilemma between Lithuania and Russia has shown that the active presence of the United States, energy dependence and the threat of Russia have not allowed a European security system to take shape.InternacionalistaPregrad
