Fishes constitute one of the animal groups particularly sensitive to plastic ingestion through skin, gills and mouth. The zebra fish (Dania rerio) is a useful model species to assess the impact of nanomaterials on different aspects of animal biology exposed to these materials. We used zebrafish to study different in vitro and in viva aspects of exposure to NPs.
