Shale oil is an unconventional oil resource that needs to be developed and utilized urgently. However, the Chang 7 shale in the Ordos Basin, as the most typical continental source rock in China, is limited by the study of organic matter (OM) enrichment factors in continental lacustrine facies, and there are still controversies about the controlling factors, which limit the progress of oil and gas exploration.
