Aeolian features framed as foredunes worldwide, whose classification faces challenges to separate wave-formed from aeolian ridges, are relevant to the context of anthropic control. An example of this kind of morphology, previously classified as foredunes, is arranged along Brazil’s northeastern coast, and the pertinence of its classification as such or even as truly developed dunes was examined. To contribute to the debate on this issue, detailed geomorphological mapping was carried out through UAV and LIDAR surveys, in addition to the multitemporal study of satellite images and aerial photographs.
