This paper describes the results of the first phase of the activity being carried out for the European Space Agency and the results obtained so far, in relation to the contract ESTEC20887, the objective of which is to validate channel models and channel assessment techniques to be used for the design, the analysis and the control of Propagation Impairments Mitigation Techniques (PIMT) for Multimedia Satellite Telecommunication Systems operating at Ka and Q/V frequency bands. The simulation activity envisaged for this study is based on existing meteorological data, products and propagation experiments relative to national to continental geographical areas
