Verticillium dahliae is a soil-borne pathogen that is difficult to eliminate, causes a severe reduction in the yield and quality of eggplant, and could be controlled through environmentally friendly biofumigation. However, the mechanisms of its effects on the dynamic changes of soil microbes is not clear.
