Certain organic superbase ionic liquids (ILs) have shown good cellulose dissolution and fiber regeneration performance, allowing us to obtain high-quality textile fibers. However, there is a lack regarding the IL recovery from the spinning bath and its purification, which is essential for the economic viability of the process. Aiming to understand methods to separate ILs from water for reuse/recycle, the use of pressure-driven membrane processes to recycle ionic liquids from aqueous solution was investigated.
