Le trafic membranaire est un processus permettant l’échange vésiculaire de molécules à l’intérieur de la cellule et avec son environnement. Ce mécanisme est nécessaire à l’homéostasie cellulaire. Conséquemment, le trafic membranaire doit être finement régulé, en partie via l’action des petites GTPases RABs. Celles-ci agissent comme interrupteurs moléculaires afin d’être activées et inactivées rapidement, leur permettant d’effectuer des fonctions liées au trafic membranaire dans la cellule.
